Revolutionary Guards warn against inspection of Iranian carriers

Naval Commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, Ali Fadavi announced inspection of Iranian ships in the open and international waters by the US and its allies will entail “special and proportionate” reaction from Revolutionary Guards navy in Hormuz Strait and the Persian Gulf.

With its 1929 resolution which was passed on June 9, the UN has called on its members to inspect Iranian air and water carriers for nuclear linked goods.

Ali Larijani, Iran’s Speaker of the Parliament has also warned the US and other countries that Iran will respond to such inspections of Iranian carriers with restrictions on ships passing through the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea.

Revolutionary Guards Naval Commander, Ali Fadavi also maintained that they have extensive rocket launching capacities in their naval forces. He added that the Guards are much more powerful than 20 years ago and they can handle any threat from the enemies.

The Navy Commander also announced that the Guards Navy Headquarters will be transferred to Bandar Abbas by end of July. He sited “control and protection of the Persian Gulf waters” and “the strategic nature of the south in the Bandar Abbas region” are reasons for this move.
