Iran Ministry announces victory in "soft war"
Iran Ministry of Intelligence announced they will soon publish “elating news” regarding the victory of the Islamic Republic in the “soft war” against Iran.
Deputy Intelligence Minister announced today that “the lengthy files opened up by the enemies of Iran will soon be closed.”
Iranian authorities have repeatedly claimed that starting ahead of the June 12 presidential elections in Iran, “enemies” of the system along with the domestic opposition had tried to orchestrate a “velvet revolution” to topple the Islamic Republic regime.
Fars news agency quotes the ministry official saying the enemies of the Islamic Republic “are trying to claim victory in the soft war by spending heavy budgets and projecting an unreal atmosphere.”
Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei also accused the US today for spending 45 million dollars to try and topple the Islamic Republic through the internet.
Ayatollah Khamenei added that the US has spent many a heavy budget to “overthrow” the Islamic Republic but has never succeeded.
The Ministry official described the so-called “soft war” tactics saying: “In the soft war, the enemy tries to infiltrate positions of power within the establishment and attract certain resources for itself and then by targeting the society, they try to create a social wave which can be dominated by its resources in places of power.”
He added: “Certain directives form the US and Britain have aimed at portraying a minority in the guise of a majority and the opportunity for this act was the elections when people were easily provoked and affected.” Thus, he concluded, the “false rumour” of fraud in the elections was spread to provoke the public.
Earlier, the Ministry also published a list of sixty domestic and international organizations which they claim are involved in the “soft war” against the Islamic Republic.
