Mousavi: Prisoners have challenged their keepres

Mousavi and Rahnavard meet Arabsorkhi family

Opposition leader, MirHosein Mousavi in a visit with the family of Feizollah Arabsorkhi, one of the post-election detainees, claimed the political prisoners have truly “challenged” their keepers.

Feizollah Arabsorkhi is one of the prominent members of the reform group, Mojahedin of the Islamic Revolution and has been in prison for over four months.

Kalameh website reports that Mousavi claimed that he has been informed that “the investigators have been challenged by their daily conversations and dialogues with the children of the Revolution.” He added that it is only natural that the inquisitors be “affected” by these encounters.

Mr. Mousavi insisted that the political activists and youth in the post-election events were not after “sabotaging or destroying” anything which needs to be acknowledged.

He also maintained that “if the media were free and people were allowed to have their say, we would not have fallen to this state.”

Following the protests to the alleged fraud in the presidential elections and the consequent government crackdown on protesters, numerous websites were blocked and some newspapers were banned.

Mousavi claimed that the current crisis can only be resolved through “confrontation of the officials of Kahrizak detention centre and setting up public and fair trials” for the detainees.

Kahrizak is the notorious detention centre where many post-election detainees were allegedly tortured and abused.

Families of political prisoners have continued their protests since last week. Today they gathered at the parliament building in Baharestan, once more demanding the release of their loved ones.
