UAE seizes arms shipment headed for Iran

United Arab Emirates seized a shipment of arms headed to Iran from North Korea last week. Western diplomats, according to Associated Press, have called this a violation of UN sanctions against North Korea.
French News Agency reports that UAE has informed UN North Korea Watch Committee and the incident in under investigation. The Committee has given Iran and North Korea 15 days to respond to their questions regarding the shipment.

In June, UN imposed sanctions on all North Korean arms sales and any other trade that could fuel North Korea’s nuclear activities.
