Officials claim meningitis the culprit in deaths of recent detainees

Director General of Tehran prisons , Sohrab Soleymani, declared that the recent detainees, RuholAmini and Kamrani, died from complications caused by meningitis and according to officials all prisoners are to be vaccinated against this disease. Meanwhile RuholAmini's father has reported that the dead body of his son revealed the victim had suffered broken jaws. Soleymani rejected allegations that prisoners are being assaulted or injected with serums that affect their hearts and brains. In an interview with the Iranian daily, Capital, the family of Amir Javadifar, another detainee who recently died while in custody, revealed that officials had urged them to claim their son had a history of health complications. The family has vehemently denied such allegations and confirms that their son died in prison.
